Since the completion of its second terminal and the subsequent doubling of its passenger capacity, Rio de Janeiro International Airport (GIG) is once again Rio's most significant air facility.

Passengers will find both the original terminal and the new terminal provide ample amenities, which include essentials, such as banks and bureaux de change as well as eating and shopping outlets.

The airport has an information desk in each terminal; in Terminal 1 it's located on the second floor of the blue sector and in Terminal 2 it is situated on the Departures level.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets

There is a small selection of shopping outlets in Terminal 1 and a larger selection in the central commercial area of Terminal 2. Shops include duty free, a newsagent and a gift outlet.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants

There is a small selection of dining establishments in Terminal 1 and a larger selection in the central commercial area of Terminal 2.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities

Banks and bureaux de change facilities can be found in both terminals, while a post office is on hand on the third floor of Terminal 1.

Business and Conference Facilities

There are no business or conference facilities available at the airport. However, the Luxor Hotel is situated onsite at the airport and offers everything necessary for individual business guests or companies wishing to hold conferences.

Disabled Facilities

Standard facilities for passengers with special needs are available and include wheelchair access, lifts, disabled persons' toilets and telephones as well as disabled persons' parking spaces.
