Rio de Janeiro International Airport (GIG) is the main gateway to the popular tourist city of Rio de Janeiro and it handles almost 15 million passengers per annum.

Since the building of a second terminal, the airport has regained its status as the region's most significant airport, which was lost in 1985 to Guarulhos International Airport.

The three-levelled terminal building serves all passengers and airlines with ease, with Arrivals located on Level 1, Check-in and Ticketing on Level 2 and Departures on Level 3.
